First House

Long Day...

I'll have some pics tomorrow but it was a long night at the house...just got home and had a much needed shower. I tore out the rest of the shower and all the wall tile. Can you believe they had 3 layers of drywall....WHY??? Hopefully the dumpster comes tomorrow cause it's getting crowded.
Brad (2 doors down, works for GM) and Mike (retired teacher across and to the right) stopped by and chatted. Brad has two dogs, Tango and Chaz. He also is the first guy to build on the island, been there 13 years, so he had a little history on the previous owners, lake conditions, fishing and also invited us to the 4th of July Island Bar Crawl. How cool....he said a few of them have bars in their basements and they go from house to house ending up at his for some fireworks. Count ME IN!
Also, Jen stopped by with a bunch of our friends (Box, Nick, Bowers, Miss, Chuck, G, Jules) to see the place, and brought me Mexican leftovers! It's a mess but they were excited and could see the potential! GREAT, more motivation...G is pushing for a July 5th party...I'll do what I can.

CLOSING Day!!

3pm-ish on 6/16 was the closing. After closing I rushed to the house and took it all in. It wasn't long before I had the fireplace mantle torn out, the weird closet in the loft and part of the bathroom. Jen showed up with a celebratory bottle of Champagne with a customized label. HOW AWESOME. Bob (our immediate east neighbor) took a pic for us and stopped to say welcome. We also had Brandon, Lisa and their daughter Hannah stop by to say hi and see the place. They were excited for us to be joining the neighborhood and glad they weren't the youngest on the island anymore...
