Redneck Dock Rescue

Dock Rescue #2. The traffic on the lake this weekend caused the last piece of dock to float free....the dock is slowly tipping towards the water so I had to put in a temporary fix. I plan to redo the dock someday, but a pooper is higher on my priorities right now.
I hooked up the truck to the dock to tip it back towards the shore, then added some stakes an braces to keep it there for a while. Should hold...for now.

Family Help and Picnic

My Mom, Dad, Sis, Bro-in-Law and cousin came this weekend and helped on the house. Jen and Mom did yardwork, Kate and Kyle cleaned out the crawlspace under the bedroom and Maggie helped with some of the yard/lake work. Thanks soo much everyone!






Then Jen's family (Aunt, Dad, Mom, 2 Sisters and Ugly Pup) came over and we had a "future in-laws" family picnic. We had a ton of fun!

More Bathroom

Made some more progress on the bathroom....Wiring, insulation, wood on the walls...should have a working toilet next weekend. My dad brought a big tube of caulk too...

Pre 4th Bonfire

Jen and I had some friends over on the 3rd to celebrate our engagement/pre 4th because I'm usually so busy on the weekends. We had a little bonfire and some fireworks. Good times...Duke came to visit but did a lot of napping...

A PROPOSAL!

Short version....she said YES! I now have a wife-to-be and someone to share my life and the fun lake house with!

Last Wednesday I packed a picnic dinner and surprised Jen with dinner in our future bedroom. I was planning for the pontoon boat but weather canceled that. We had a snack-like dinner and then I had a special dessert. She didn't see it coming and didn't even answer because she was soo excited. We are both very happy and excited....and NO we have not picked a date yet...but stay tuned! I also had an air mattress ready and we stayed the first night in our new house. (Sorry but rings are hard to capture in photos!)

Basement cleaning...

It's been a while since an update...so. Last Tuesday (the 1st) Jen and I cleaned out the rest of the basement and removed the "scary" room. Jen stepped on her first screw and luckily it only went into the shoe...no blood! We also hauled the sink, vanity, faucet in and set them in the bathroom to visualize how it will look.

Shopping!

Jen and I went shopping at Lowe's last night and picked up the sink (below), faucet and cabinets for the bathroom. We got a great deal on some kitchen cabinets that we'll use for the bathroom!
